One patient's holistic cancer recovery journey — told in his own words.

Three weeks. That's how long Eugenio Laurito went without being able to go to the bathroom properly. The pain kept building. He knew something wasn't right — but nothing prepared him for what came next.
Stage 3 Colon Cancer.
Today, Eugenio wakes up at 5 AM, opens his shop at 7, works until 8 at night, and sleeps like a rock. His blood sugar is normal. His blood pressure is stable. The tingling in his feet he'd had for years — gone.
Two years ago, none of that was true.
The Diagnosis
It started with a checkup at a local clinic in Carmona, Cavite. Something didn't look right on the scan. A family friend who was a doctor told him not to wait. He was hospitalized that same week — eight days of tests, then the news: a tumor in the intestine. Stage 3 Colon Cancer.
Surgery followed. It got complicated. He spent 15 days in the hospital recovering, and went home weak, uncertain, and facing the biggest decision of his life.
"I Was Getting Stronger. Why Would I Give That Up?"
Doctors recommended chemotherapy — standard for Stage 3. Eugenio listened. Then he said no.
He'd watched people close to him go through it. The fatigue, the weight loss, the weeks of barely functioning. He was just starting to feel like himself again, and he was scared of losing that.
"Nagpapagaling nga ako tapos ganito ang mangyayari," he told us — roughly: "I'm finally getting better. Why would I do something that makes me worse?"
Note: Chemotherapy is a proven treatment for colon cancer and is recommended by oncologists worldwide. Eugenio's choice was deeply personal. Always consult your doctor before making any treatment decisions.
What He Did Instead
Eugenio and his family started researching. They asked around. Eventually, they found an ozone therapy clinic — and nervous as he was, he walked in.
Ozone therapy uses a medical-grade form of oxygen introduced into the body in small, controlled amounts. It's not a cancer cure — no honest clinic will claim otherwise. But in wellness settings, it's used to support the body: circulation, energy, immune function. For Eugenio, it was one piece of a bigger effort, not a magic answer.
Alongside the therapy, he completely changed how he ate. Real food, eaten with intention — vegetables, lean proteins, nothing processed. "Number one is food," he still says, every time you ask him what made the difference.
His brother and nephew covered much of the financial burden. His children showed up for every hard conversation. And his faith — which deepened significantly after his diagnosis — kept him grounded on the days when nothing else could.
Where He Is Now?
Eugenio doesn't call himself cured. He doesn't call himself lucky, either. He calls himself intentional—someone who made a choice and committed to it completely.
He knows the path he took isn't for everyone. But he talks about it openly because he believes people deserve to know their options and that how you feel during recovery matters just as much as the numbers on a chart.
